Welcome to the latest edition of FMTC’s Tech Corner. We are excited to introduce a new feature for our subscribers — processing exclusive deals directly from the affiliate networks. This opt-in feature gives you more control over managing your exclusive affiliate offers while seamlessly integrating them into FMTC’s existing deal-processing pipeline.
What are Subscriber-Exclusive Deals?
Subscriber-exclusive deals are private affiliate offers available only to select partners. These fall under FMTC’s broader deal classification system, which also includes other targeting options such as audience or placement-based deals. With FMTC’s API, enterprise users can access, filter, and deploy these deals to increase conversions and differentiate their content. These deals are now accessible exclusively to FMTC’s enterprise-level subscribers through the new Deal API version 3.2.0.
Note: As of 2026, the latest version of the Deal API is now API version 4.0.0.
Exclusive deal filtering remains a core capability of FMTC’s Deal API, with continued improvements to consistency and data handling.
How It Works
Enterprise Data Feed subscribers can opt in to this feature by contacting their FMTC account manager. Once enabled, exclusive deals will be processed like any other affiliate network-sourced deal.
Requirements:
- Must be an Enterprise subscriber
- Must have MerchantSync enabled
- Provide affiliate network credentials (only networks supporting MerchantSync will pull in your exclusive deals)
- Give FMTC explicit permission to retrieve exclusive deals from the networks on your behalf
Once enrolled, our non-exclusive content will be unduplicated by our system — meaning if a deal is available publicly, you will only see the deal in your feed once. Exclusive deals will be processed with the same attention to detail as the public offers.
Why Subscriber-Exclusive Deals Matter
- Higher conversion rates (less competition)
- Unique content for SEO differentiation
- Better merchant relationships
- Less coupon leakage
What’s New in the API?
Both public and exclusive deals will appear in the API responses upon enrolling in the Subscriber-Exclusive Deal feature. If you need to distinguish between them, upgrading to Deal API version 3.2.0 is recommended (you can view the new API documentation here).
Key Features in Deal API Version 3.2.0
- Public Deals Only: Use the new public_only parameter and set it to 1.
- Exclusive Deals Only: Use the exclusive_only parameter and set it to 1.
A new field, exclusive, will indicate the deal type:
- 0 = Publicly available
- 1 = Exclusive deal pulled through API
- 2 = Exclusive deal manually added by a user
Example:
&exclusive_only=1 → returns only exclusive deals
&public_only=1 → returns only public deals
These parameters give you the flexibility to filter deal types, providing greater control over your data. If you’re not ready to upgrade, your current setup will remain fully functional without any disruption.
